Wedding: January 17, 2015
Story by: Pamela Simmons
The Ribault Club on Ft. George Island in Northeast Florida, with all the old-world southern charm of a Victorian Mansion, was the elegant backdrop that both Brittany and Brice wanted for their wedding reception. However, just up the road before reaching The Ribault Club is the Saint George Episcopal Church, founded in 1877, and was the setting for Brittany and Brice to tie the knot with family and friends. Inside Saint George Episcopal Church, the breath-taking gorgeous, floor to vaulted ceiling stained glass walls set the stage for this old-world-themed wedding. Saint George Episcopal Church sits unspoiled in a place quiet with beauty and put in a sea of tropical greenery where peacocks roam, yes, actual peacocks, walk the grounds and sit up in the beautiful southern trees as they welcome guests to this beautiful place in nature.
Once Brittany and Brice said their vows, guests headed down the quaint dirt road among the scenic marshes of the Ribault River to the Ribault Club itself. A place known to be as simple as it is elegant. If these walls could talk, you’d hear thousands of voices from gatherings spanning nearly eight decades. Established in 1928 as a playground for the affluent, the club has been the site of many memorable parties and events over the years, hosting foreign dignitaries, captains of industry, and society mavens.
The Ribault Club offers suites upstairs for the bridal party to use as they readied for their wedding. Michael’s Formalwear & Bridal provided Brittany’s dress from Casablanca Bridal collections and Brice and groomsmen tuxedo rentals. Hairstyles provided by Grazyna’s Hair Designs and florals supplied by Special Arrangements by Joann and included table linens and backdrops and uplighting. Once the photos were all finished, the bride and groom entered the reception and took a few minutes to relax at their sweetheart table to enjoy the meal with family and friends. After a few speeches and toastings, the dance floor opened, and everyone had a fantastic finish to the evening.
The bride and groom said farewells to all their family and friends under the canopy of colorful ribbons with bells attached to them. It was a beautiful and elegant wedding the coupled had worked so hard to put together. They honeymooned in Jamaicia. Congratulations to Brittany and Brice!
