These two wonderful and talented people found each other on a dating website in August 2014! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it does happen! Nate was originally from Wisconsin, and Cara was originally from Illinois, yet their travels and lives brought them together in Southwest Florida. Life really works in mysterious ways. Their very first date took place at Ford’s Garage in Estero, Florida. At the time, Cara worked in a hospital in Naples, and Nate worked in a resort hotel on the Island of Sanibel/Captiva. However, Estero was home for Cara at the time, so meeting at Ford’s Garage was not out of the way. But from Sanibel/Captiva Island, the drive was much longer for Nate. Cara remembers thinking that Nate drove all that way from Sanibel/Captiva to meet her and go on their date, so she knew he really must have wanted to meet her to drive that far.
Both Cara and Nate are highly talented people. Cara is an expert nurse, plus continuing her education to further her career. Nate worked numerous positions in one of the large resort hotels on the island with long hours and shift work, yet still found time to work on his hobby/talent of photography. Cara remembers sitting across from him in the restaurant, and she thought, “I’m probably going to marry this guy.”
Nate proposed to Cara in June 2016 on a trip to Charleston, South Carolina, at the Charleston battery. The setting was just beautiful, right out on the waterfront. Nate placed a blanket on the ground with champagne and champagne glass flutes. He also did the extra added touch of the white rose petals placed all over the ground around the blanket. Nate got down on his knee under the enormous old southern oaks and the Charleston Bay. Cara said yes, and the photographer caught it all in photos.
Nate told Cara it was Love At First Sight For Him! They were married in October 2017. Congratulations to you both!
